People have been asking me a lot to describe how I create my art. So I thought I'd put together some "stages" pages to show a few drawings and paintings in progress, from the beginning stage to the final result. Hopefully, it'll answer some of the frequently asked questions, as well as help people learn a thing or two.
By no means is this supposed to be an online art class type thing. This is meant to merely share some of the ways in which I prefer to work. I'm an art chameleon - I'm constantly discovering new techniques and applying them. For me, the best way to learn has been trial and error, not being afraid to screw up. I'm glad if these tutorials help you in your creative endeavors; but remember that these guides are not the art bible. What works for me may not work for you. Studying from as many sources as possible and constantly practicing is what makes one a better artist.
If you're interested in more techniques and mediums, check out the Fantasy Art Resource Project - it's great resource written for artists by artists. |
