Watercolor was once not only my least favorite medium; I downright hated it. What I didn't realize was that it didn't have to be used the way my elementary school teacher insisted we used it. Once I allowed myself to go beyond the established "rules", watercolor became a wonderful tool.
Watercolor is probably the hardest medium out there. It tends to have a life of its own, run and spread where you don't want it. It's not a very forgiving medium, either - once you put it down, you can't take it away. But with practice, you can learn to control and even enjoy it.
